Common household stains can be easily removed, such as food spills, sauces, pen marks, makeup/ cosmetics, sticky kids crafts and drinks such as red wine or coffee can all be removed from LHL performance fabrics.
All accidental stains can be removed using only water, but should you have a tougher stain, use a small amount of standard white household soap. It is good to remember though, that immediate stain removal will ensure the best result.
HOW TO CLEAN LHL PERFORMANCE FABRICS
- STAY CALM
To remove stains like mud, ketchup, lipstick or silly putty, you’ll need to get a teaspoon or flat utensil. Remove all stain residue with the edge of the utensil. For other stains like pen or coffee, you won’t need to do this.
- WATER & BLOT
Apply water to the stain and blot using a white paper towel. Make sure you only blot and do not apply circular motions or rubs, because it will just rip up your paper towel and drive the paper fibres into your fabric. Repeat the process until the stain residue is no longer visible on the paper towel.
- WATER & CIRCLES
Apply more water to the stained area and rub with gentle, circular movements using a microfibre cloth. Use any white bar of soap for stubborn stains. Now you can apply the circular rubbing motions. When using soap, use intermittently and always add water. Repeat the process until the stain is completely removed.
- AIR DRY
Don’t use a hairdryer or apply heat to the area where the stain has been removed. Just air dry for best results.

All LHL performance fabrics are manufactured and certified under the STANDARD 100 by OEKO- TEX®, guaranteeing that they won’t release any harmful finishes or chemicals into the environment and are completely safe for contact with you, your children and your pets.
Some of our beautiful collections are now Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and/or Organic Content Standard (OCS) certified.
The Global Recycled Standard is awarded to fabric containing yarn made from recycled post consumer waste such as discarded plastic bottles.
The Organic Content Standard applies to natural fibres, such as cotton, to certify that it is grown organically, without the use of harmful pesticides, and with careful water management.

WHAT IS ISO 140001?
ISO14001 establishes criteria for an environmental management system.
It ensures that the environmental impact of operations is being measured and continuously improved, minimising the environmental footprint, diminishing the risk of pollution incidents and improving operating systems.
All mills LHL performance fabrics are produced in are ISO 140001 certified.
HOW DOES PERFORMANCE FABRIC WORK?
During the manufacturing process, the yarns are protected with our unique and well-researched formula resulting in both a stain-resistant and long- wearing fabric, including after multiple washes. We don’t use any sprays or after treatments to produce LHL performance fabrics.
DOES LAURA HAMMETT LIVING PERFORMANCE FABRIC NEED TO HAVE ANY PROTECTIVE FINISH APPLIED TO PREVENT EVERYDAY DIRT AND GRIME BUILD-UP?
No, LHL performance fabric is, by design, stain-resistant and does not need any additional sprays or finishes to keep it being incredibly easy to clean, time after time. If additional finishes are added, Laura Hammett Living cannot guarantee its unique stain-free qualities.
