As the festive season comes around, I love searching for the perfect Christmas decorations. I usually buy or make a few new pieces each year to spruce up last year’s décor, but I always find buying a wreath every year a problem. It never lasts long enough to see in the new year and I feel awful watching it wilt and then throwing it away. I have a beautiful quality faux Christmas tree which is so easy to set up year-after-year, plus everyone always asks if it’s real (which I’m always thrilled about). So, I thought, why don’t I do the same with my wreaths?
Being me, designing my own sounded much more fun than shopping around for them, which led to me designing my first Laura Hammett Living Christmas wreath collection. Designed alongside my best friend Kelly, who’s an amazing florist, we created three unique wreaths, hand-selecting each and every berry and branch ourselves. Unlike their natural counterparts, luxury faux wreaths are built to withstand the test of time, seamlessly blending beautiful design with sustainability. My ethos around sustainably has always been centred around sourcing great quality pieces that will last forever, and my Christmas wreaths are no exception. Handcrafted from the finest quality faux foliage which imitates the appearance of natural greenery so well, they retain their lush appearance year after year, ensuring that your décor remains timeless, understated and elegant.
An absolute must when dressing my home is a front door wreath. It’s always a welcome sight that sets the scene for what lies within. The medium sized Winter Eucalyptus Wreath is a good choice for a front door if you’re looking for a modern take on a classic style. It features understated eucalyptus sprigs, dusty miller leaves and a sprinkling of white desmodium gyrans, finished with a festive green bow. I just love this combination, and it’s perfect for those looking for something a little different.
Alternatively, The large Winter Cedar Wreath is wonderfully oversized and works so well on very large front doors, its cedar leaves and snow berry sprays add texture and interest to your entryway, whilst the emerald green, thick velvet bow gives a traditional finish. The large sized wreath also works perfectly hung over the fireplace for a statement focal point to your festive styling, bringing some of the outdoors in.
The small Winter Garden Wreath, features a wild yet carefully selected mix of festive foliage and winter berries which are a lovely accompaniment to any choice of festive colour scheme. I designed this wreath to be a heritage-style piece, so the royal purple bow brings a lovely traditional feel and it’s the perfect size for smaller spaces or front doors.
Beyond their look, luxury faux wreaths also offer practical advantages. With no wilting, shedding of needles, or moisture requirement, faux foliage requires practically no maintenance. Additionally, they are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, so their versatility makes them adaptable to style differently or in new locations each year.
My hope is that my luxury faux wreath designs help to make your home feel festive for many Christmases to come!
Seasons Greetings all!
